The Fifth Annual Mendocino Acoustic Blues Concert will be presented on Friday, June 10th, 2011, at the Mendocino Recreation and Community Center, School and Pine Streets, in Mendocino, CA. The concert, from 7 to 9 P.M., will showcase the remarkable talents of Piedmont blues and ragtime guitar virtuoso JL Stiles, from San Francisco, who recently opened for BB King. Opening for JL will be the Shaky Jake Blues Band, a local group who recently opened for Roy Rogers and the Delta Rhythm Kings. Fronted by KZYX "Roots of the Blues" host, Ragtime Rick Blaufeld, on guitar and vocals, the group also features Jammin' Gino Jacomella on harmonica, and Big Bill Yates on upright bass. Suggested donation for this event is $10, a portion of which will benefit the Rec Center's After-School Program Scholarship Fund. Performers' CDs will be available for purchase.
